PORTAL TRAVEL AGENCY Blue Cave and Hvar Island group tour

Blue Cave and Hvar Island group tour

After picking you up at Split promenade, you willl step aboard our speedboat for a thrilling ride to Bisevo Island, whose highlight is the Blue Cave. In order to appreciate its ethereal beauty, we’ll arrive exactly at the time of the day when the sunlight reflected through the sea floor bathes the entire cave in aquamarine light, while objects in the water are turned into shimmering silver. According to old fishermen’s evidence, on Bisevo island lived a number of monk seals. They used to call this animal the “sea-man” in their dialect. In the past fishermen persecuted monk seals because they tore their nets and scared the fish. The cave called Monk Seal’s Cave is the biggest among them located immediately behind the cape Biskup towards the bay of Baluni.  Then we slice through the Adriatic to explore Komiza, a picture-perfect, authentic fishermans village on the island of Vis. You will have free time to wonder around the old town, relax on the beaches with shaded area provided by the tamarix trees and taste some typical Medditeranean snacks. With sun on its peak, we will sail towards one of the most beautiful secret bay on Vis island, perfect place for swimming and snorkeling before our final destination – the town of Hvar, one of the most beautiful harbors on the Adriatic and a rich cultural heritage. Its  seven-century old walls still survive, as well as many of the 15th-17th C Venetian era noble houses and public buildings. The easy walk around the town to discover its many charms is a delight.  On its famous promenade you will have the opportunity to have lunch at your own expense and enjoy typical dishes. Afterwards it’s time to return to Split on our speedboat.

PORTAL TRAVEL AGENCY Plitvice lakes group tour - SPLIT

Plitvice lakes group tour - SPLIT

Our comfortable, air-conditioned mini-van or bus will pick you up at the prearranged location and head up through the countryside towards – Plitvice Lakes. The unity and harmony of 16 lakes and their rare natural and cultural value is not famous only throughout Croatia, but also worldwide; earning this remarkable national park a coveted place on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage sites. Arriving to Plitvice, we’ll walk through these ancient woodlands led by our experienced guide. The path takes us first across Gornja Jezera (Upper Lakes), a system of 12 lakes separated by travertine barriers. Then it’s time for a peaceful boat ride towards the second area called Donja Jezera (Lower Lakes), placed in a limestone canyon. Wherever you are in Pltivice it’s easy to see why its travertine marble formations are such an extraordinary natural phenomenon. The barriers, sills and other forms created in these lakes, karst rivers and streams are stil an ongoing process that shapes the wonderful landscapes that make your walk through the park so enjoyable. It’s these same travertine formations that have and are still creating the  numerous magnificent waterfalls here. Over time, the water changes its course, leaving some barriers dry as it deposits new layers elsewhere. This constant evolution makes the Plitvice Lakes never look the same.  The best way to actually see this happening is when you are standing in front of the Big Waterfall, 78 meters high. The roaring thunder of the water as it hits the ground is unforgettable! Our journey ends with a tram ride. At the end, we suggest to use the opportunity to taste typical local dishes from this area in a local restaurant (optional). After lunch we will drive back to Split along the highway, still excited and full of lasting impressions—make sure your camera has extra batteries!
